Latin name: Dianthus caryophyllus. Also called carnation. Plant 6" apart in full sun in rich, sandy, well-drained soil. Grows 1-2' in height and 1' wide. This tender perennial flower is very fragrant, and attracts pollinators. Blooms spring to first frost.
